Quests vs Raids
Quests and Raids are very similar in that they are both challenges for DAO members to complete to earn rewards, but there are some important differences between the two to note.
Quests
Quests are long-term challenges that everyone in an Organization should do, no matter when they join. This can include tasks like onboarding or interacting with a DAO's dApp.
Quests have a predefined reward denominated in Gems. Gems can be redeemed for Rewards.
Raids
Raids are time-boxed challenges where community members compete to earn the most points. Over a period of time, users compete to complete as many challenges as possible. Whoever completes the most challenges wins the most rewards.
Raids can be of two types:
Top Contributor Raid
A top contributor raid defines a set number of winners and their prizes. For example, a top contributor raid could be configured so that first place wins 1000 ADA, second place wins 500 ADA, and third place wins 200 ADA.
Pro Rata Raid
Pro rata boards define the total amount of rewards that will be distributed to the reward participants. The amount each participant is awarded is proportional to the ratio of Raid points they earned to the total number of Raid points earned by all users. For example, a Pro Rata Reward could be created with 1000 ADA allocated to rewards. If 50 members participate in the Raid and the top participant contributes 10% of the total raid points and the bottom participant contributes 1% of the total raid points, the top participant gets rewarded 1000 * 10% = 100 ADA, and the bottom participant would receive 1000 * 1% = 10 ADA. Everyone in between would win their respective pro rata amount as well.
